Reorder payment methods
To change the order of payment methods at checkout, create a payment function of the sort type. You list the payment methods in the order you want and choose the conditions under which that order applies.
Create the function
-
In the app, go to Payment Function and click Create Payment Function.

-
Click Sort / Reorder payment methods.

-
In Payment Function title, enter a name that helps you find the function later, for example
Sort Payment Method. Customers don't see it.
Set the order
-
Under Sorting Order, choose first to last or last to first.

-
Under Payment methods name match, choose Contains, Exact (Case-Sensitive) or Exact (Non Case).
-
Add each payment method whose position you want to change. Click Add Payment Method for each new line and enter its name in Title.
-
Drag the lines by their handles into the order you want.

The match types work like this:
- Contains: the payment method is sorted if any word you enter matches its name. For example, if the payment method is called
paypaland you enterpayp, its position changes. - Exact (Case-Sensitive): enter the exact name, with the same capital and small letters. For example, if the payment method is called
PayPaland you enterpaypal, its position doesn't change. EnterPayPal. - Exact (Non Case): enter the exact name. Capital and small letters don't matter, so
paypalsortsPayPal.
Set when the order applies
The new order applies only when the conditions you set here are met.
-
Under Payment Rules, next to Sort when matching, choose all conditions or any condition.
-
Choose a rule type in Select Rule type and a condition in Select Rule Condition, then enter the value. Click Add Conditions to add more.
-
Click Save.

- all conditions: the order changes only if every condition is met.
- any condition: the order changes if any one of the conditions is met.
Check that it works: go to your checkout with a cart that meets your conditions. The payment methods show in the order you set.
If it doesn't work
- A name doesn't match. With Exact (Case-Sensitive), the name must match the payment method's name exactly, including capital and small letters. With Contains, check that the word you entered is part of its name.
- The conditions aren't met. With all conditions, the cart has to meet every condition, not just one.
To hide or rename payment methods instead, see Hide a payment method and Rename a payment method.
