Hide a payment method
To hide a payment method at checkout, create a payment function of the hide type. You choose the payment methods to hide and the conditions under which they're hidden.
Create the function
-
In the app, go to Payment Function and click Create Payment Function.

-
Click Hide payment methods.

-
In Payment Function title, enter a name that helps you find the function later, for example
Hide XYZ Payment Method. Customers don't see it.
Choose the payment methods to hide
-
Under Hidden payment methods, choose a match type: Contains or is.
-
In Select Payment Method, select the payment method to hide.
-
To hide more payment methods, click Add Payment Method and repeat.

The match types work like this:
- Contains: the payment method is hidden if any word you enter matches its name.
- is: you select the exact name of the payment method.
Set when they're hidden
The payment methods are hidden only when the conditions you set here are met.
-
Next to Hide when matching, choose all conditions or any condition.
-
Choose a rule type in Select Rule type and a condition in Select Rule Condition, then enter the value.
-
To add another rule with different conditions, click Add New Rule. One payment function can hold several rules.
-
Click Save.

- all conditions: the payment method is hidden only if every condition is met.
- any condition: the payment method is hidden if any one of the conditions is met.
The rule types are grouped under Cart Details (Total Amount, Subtotal Amount), Cart Has Any Items (SKU, Choose Collection, Single Line Quantity, All Line Quantity), Address (Country, Province Code / State Code, Zip Code / Postal Code, City / Area, Address Line), Customer (Customer tags, Total Spend) and Delivery / Shipping (Title).
Check that it works: go to your checkout with a cart that meets your conditions. The payment method you hid isn't offered.
If it doesn't work
- The name doesn't match. With is, the name must be the exact name of the payment method. With Contains, check that the word you entered is part of its name.
- The conditions aren't met. With all conditions, the cart has to meet every condition, not just one.
- The rule still doesn't work on checkout. Share the function's error log with the developer. The Share app function logs card at the bottom of the function's page lists the steps: open the Checkout Engine manage app page from the link in the card, click Share logs in the Share function logs card, then click Share logs in the dialog.
To change the name or the order of payment methods instead, see Rename a payment method and Reorder payment methods.
