Install on an Online Store 2.0 theme

On an Online Store 2.0 theme, such as Dawn, you add the wishlist button with an app block in the theme editor. You don't need to paste any code.

Before you start: this article is for Online Store 2.0 themes. On an older theme, follow Install on an older theme instead.

The Wishlist Engine setup video is a screen recording of every step of adding the app block that shows the wishlist icon.

Add the app block

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store › Themes and click Edit theme (or Customize) next to your current theme.
Use the page list at the top of the theme editor to open the page where the wishlist button should appear, for example a product page.
Add the Wishlist Engine app block to the page, as the video shows, and move it to where the button should appear.
Click Save.

Check that it works: open a product in your store. The wishlist button shows where you placed the block.

Skip the code insertion

The app's Installation page has a Code insertion step that adds the app's code to a theme. The app says to skip it if you use an Online Store 2.0 theme. It is only for older themes.

Next steps

Give shoppers a way to open their wishlist: Add a Wishlist link to your menu.
Choose how the button looks: Change the wishlist button.
Turn on the features you want: General settings.

If the button doesn't show

The app is turned off. In the app, go to Settings › General settings and check that App status says the app is enabled.
The theme wasn't saved. Open the theme editor again, check that the block is on the page, and click Save.
